Hello, there!

I am overjoyed that you are even taking a few minutes to read my new blog! I want this to be more than just a space where you see beautiful photos. My goal is to share our story, valuable insights, as well as more behind the scenes of photo sessions. To start the blog, here is the story of how Austin and I created our business together.

I remember distinctly it was a cold winter day, as I relaxed on the couch I had the reoccurring thought that had been in my brain for a while now. I had the itch to buy a camera. I had no idea how to use it, had very little knowledge of starting a business, but I had a dream. After my grandma had passed away, my family discovered boxes upon boxes of photos that we didn't even know existed. I was shocked that she had stored all of these memories, and realized how much value those photos and moments in time meant to me as my loved ones had passed. Most importantly, I've discovered in life that sometimes you have to just take the chance, take the leap, and make your own dreams a reality before it's too late. So, I did some quick research, purchased a beginner camera body, Austin and I enrolled in a photography class, and my dream became a reality.

Flash forward to a few months later, Austin and I spent many evenings having what we called "business meetings". We would open up a google doc and dream of all the possibilities we could create with our new business. From photoshoot ideas, to number crunching, to social media and marketing. On top of that, we spent hours taking photography classes online, soaking up each bit of information as we mastered manual settings, lighting scenarios, and Austin took editing classes.

We quickly began booking photoshoots starting in January of 2024. As soon as we announced our social media pages, business began to take off! We were pleasantly surprised (and a bit nervous). Our weekends quickly began to be taken up by photoshoot after photoshoot. We could not be more grateful for the support of our clients, family, and friends. Without all of you and your support, none of this would be possible! Thank you for loving us, following our journey, and taking a few moments out of your day to learn about the story of Moments By A + A. I can't wait to share more!
